About 1st Beddau

Since our founding in 1928, the 1st Beddau Scout Group has been delivering life changing experiences to young people in our community. We are one of the 14 groups in the Rhondda Cynon Taf district of the Mid Glamorgan Area. Our group has a membership of around 100 young people across 3 sections, supported by over 15 leaders and volunteers.

We are an active group that strives to deliver an exciting and challenging programme through our weekly meetings and special events.

In addition to our weekly section meetings, we have annual events for our young people that usually include:

• Group camp in the spring (all sections)
• Week long Summer camp in August (Scouts)
• Harry Potter themed camp in October (Cubs)
• Funday in June (Cubs and Beavers)
• Sleepover at the Scout Hut in November (Beavers)
• Games marathon over 24 hours (all sections)

Our base is in Beddau at our own purpose built Scout Hall, but we are often out and about in the local community. We support community events and celebrations, such as the annual Remembrance commemoration at the cenotaph in the village each November.
